The right tank for
Your Application
Lancaster Tanks manufactures above-ground steel storage tanks ranging from 500 to 40,000 gallons across Fireguard- and Flameshield-certified, generator sub-base, single-wall, vertical, and specialty configurations. Multiple engineers are on staff, providing in-house technical depth from initial drawing through final release. Drawings are developed to align with operational conditions and regulatory constraints.
Fabrication follows the defined specification—whether established by standard or developed for a particular installation.

If your project requires something outside these categories, we welcome the conversation.

What It Is
Double-wall steel construction with lightweight concrete insulation between walls. UL 2085 certified for two-hour fire protection, impact resistance, and ballistic resistance. 110% secondary containment. Available in cylindrical and rectangular shapes, vertical and horizontal designs, up to 40,000 gallons.
Example Applications
- Backup generator fuel storage for hospitals, data centers, and other critical locations
- Municipal fleet fuel storage at schools, universities, transit facilities, government buildings
- Applications where fire rating is mandated by code or specified by fire marshals
Why It Matters
Fireguard configurations are governed by defined fire-resistance and containment criteria. Fabrication aligns directly to UL 2085 requirements, supporting straightforward inspection and approval.
Configurations
- Interior bulkheads for multiple compartments
- Integral spill chambers (required in many jurisdictions for tanks over 10,000 gallons)
- Structural additions: ladders, stairs, platforms, catwalks

What It Is
Double-wall steel construction with tight wrap, emergency venting, and built-in secondary containment. UL 142 certified. Passes SwRI 97-04 2-hour fire test. Available in cylindrical (vertical and horizontal) and rectangular configurations in 500-40,000 capacities.
Example Applications
- Commercial and industrial fuel storage requiring fire protection
- Fleet vehicle fuel storage at construction yards, transportation facilities
- Applications where UL 142 fire rating meets project specifications
Why It Matters
Flameshield tanks provide UL 142 certified fire resistance through tight-wrap double-wall construction with emergency venting and secondary containment. When your application requires fire-rated storage but specifications don’t mandate UL 2085, Flameshield delivers proven two-hour fire test performance.
Configurations
- Interior bulkheads for multiple compartments
- Spill chambers available
- Structural additions: ladders, stairs, platforms, catwalks

What It Is
UL-certified rectangular fuel tanks engineered as structural foundations for standby generators, integrating storage and equipment support within a single unit. Dimensions are configured to align with specific generator models, including Cummins, Caterpillar, and Kohler.
Example Applications
- Backup generators for hospitals, data centers, and other facilities where downtime is unacceptable
- Auxiliary power systems for critical infrastructure—emergency services, telecommunications, government, etc.
- Any application requiring integrated generator/fuel storage
Why It Matters
Standby power systems require integrated fuel storage aligned to equipment specifications and UL criteria. Sub-base fabrication is developed to match the defined generator model, supporting straightforward installation and inspection.
Configurations
- Dimensions matched to generator manufacturer specifications
- Fireguard construction available for fire-rated applications
- Structural provisions for generator mounting

What It Is
Single-layer steel tanks can be manufactured to UL specifications or customer-supplied specifications depending on application requirements. Available in various sizes and configurations for both regulated and non-regulated storage applications.
Example Applications
- Water storage for industrial processes, fire suppression systems
- Non-fuel industrial materials—cement, grain, corn, aggregates
- Silos and bulk material storage for agriculture
- Applications where integrated secondary containment is not necessary
Why It Matters
Not every storage application requires double-wall construction. Single wall tanks provide cost-effective storage for water, agricultural products, and industrial materials where secondary containment isn’t mandated or is provided through other means.
Configurations
- Vertical or horizontal orientation
- Sizes from 500 to 40,000 gallons
- Fittings and connections specified per application

What It Is
Tanks engineered for applications beyond fuel storage, such as process liquids, contaminated fluids, industrial byproducts, and specialty materials.
Example Applications
- Landfill condensate capture from methane compression operations
- Fracking liquid reclamation and containment
- Waste management fluid processing
- Hot water storage for industrial processes
- Contaminated fluid containment awaiting treatment
Why It Matters
Non-standard applications require defined engineering review and controlled fabrication. In-house technical depth supports projects involving atypical configurations, specialized fittings, or code-driven constraints.
Configurations
- Interior linings for chemical compatibility
- Heating coils for temperature-sensitive materials
- Mixing equipment integration
- Sizes, shapes, and fittings specified per application

What It Is
Above-ground bulk storage tanks manufactured to UL-142 specifications or customer-supplied specifications. Single or double-wall construction available.
Example Applications
- Fuel storage for distribution terminals at aviation, government, and military fuel depots
- Bulk storage for industry and agriculture
Why It Matters
Vertical orientation increases storage volume within constrained sites. Structural load, pressure, and anchoring requirements are addressed through coordinated design and fabrication.
Configurations
- Single- or double-wall construction
- Flat or cone top or bottom
- Ground-level supports or elevated legs
- Ladders, platforms, safety rails

What It Is
Whether you need interior treatments, structural additions, specialized fittings, or operation-specific configurations, we can take it from concept to fabrication.
Example Applications
- Applications requiring specific shapes
- Specialty materials requiring custom interior linings
- Projects with unique structural integration requirements
Why It Matters
When configurations fall outside standard categories, engineering review and fabrication planning are aligned from the outset. Defined specifications and documented controls support accurate execution.
