We’re UL certified members of the Steel Tank Institute. Both require formal application, design review by third-party auditors, adherence to documented processes, and ongoing quality oversight.
Manufacturing Storage Tanks
Since 1945
Lancaster Tanks has operated since 1945, manufacturing above-ground storage tanks through successive regulatory eras. This span of experience informs our respect for the significance of ensuring each customer project meets regulatory requirements. Maintaining the priority of code compliance drives our commitment to robust design and manufacturing processes.
Tested and Certified
Explore What Each Certification Means and Why It Matters
UL 2085 Fireguard Tanks
Double-wall construction and lightweight concrete insulation provides two-hour fire protection, impact and ballistic resistance, and 110% secondary containment.
UL 142 Flameshield Tanks
Double-wall construction with tight wrap, emergency venting, and built-in secondary containment. Passes SwRI 97-04 2-hour fire test.
Generator Sub-Base Tanks
UL-certified rectangular fuel storage tanks engineered to serve as the structural foundation for diesel generators, integrating storage, functionality, and structural support into a single system.
The Team Behind the Tanks
We began manufacturing storage tanks in 1945 and have operated through successive changes in building code and fire-rated standards.
Over this time, the institutional knowledge base has grown and been passed along—in some cases across generations within the same families.
That continuity supports consistent fabrication and informed resolution when your project introduces new challenges. Established procedures are updated as standards evolve, with changes integrated into documented practice—so your specifications are addressed within a system that is already proven.
How We Show Up—and How It Shows Up for You
Our values show up in how work is done.
Our Commitment to You
When the tank leaves our facility, it’s built to hold. So is our word.
Respect
Respect Yourself First, Then Others
Our culture starts with respect — for ourselves, our coworkers, our customers, and our suppliers. You can see it in how we work and in the condition of our facility. When people are treated with dignity, they take pride in their craft. That pride translates into accountability, attention to detail, and clear communication.
Safety
Keep Each Other Safe, Body and Mind
Safety is non-negotiable at Lancaster Tanks. We maintain rigorous safe manufacturing practices, invest in up-to-date equipment, and require disciplined, thoughtful use of heavy machinery. Just as important, we protect psychological safety—people are expected to speak up, ask questions, and raise concerns without fear. Every job is done the right way, and every person goes home safe in body and in mind.
Quality
No Leaks, No Exceptions
At Lancaster Tanks, quality starts with a non-negotiable requirement: it must not leak. Every tank is pressure and vacuum tested before it leaves our facility. Results are measured, recorded, and charted to ensure conformance and visibility— and to drive improvement over time.
But integrity goes beyond leak testing. Quality means accurate drawings, dimensional precision, industry-standard components, and a durable paint finish that will last.
Continuous Improvement
Better Today Than Yesterday
We operate with the belief that improvement is never finished. We measure our work so we can understand it, control it, and make it better. We track performance, analyze trends, and look beyond surface issues to identify root causes. When something can be improved — whether in safety, design, quality, or efficiency — we address it methodically and permanently. Progress at Lancaster Tanks is intentional, disciplined, and continuous.
